2010 TEAM PLAY! TRYOUT INFORMATION

TRYOUT INFORMATION FOR 2010 TEAM PLAY! ALL SET!
21st Century Sports is excited to announce their official tryout dates and times for the 2010 spring and summer seasons.  All tryouts will be conducted at the Omni Fitness Complex (872 Pelham Parkway) in Pelham, N.Y.  For directions, please visit www.omnicomplex.com or call 914.738.2200. 

Tryout dates and times for all of our teams, which will TRAIN AND COMPETE LOCALLY - RIGHT HERE IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY EACH WEEK - are as follows:

Sunday 1.17.10
5-6 p.m.:  Ages 9-12
6-7 p.m.:  Ages 13-14

Sunday 1.24.10
5-6 p.m.:  Ages 9-12
6-7 p.m.:  Ages 13-14

A maximum of only 15 players per tryout will be accepted in order to conduct a thorough evaluation of each player trying out.  Like any sport showcase, all tryout participants will be asked to pay a minimal fee of $10 to highlight their skills.  The refundable fee will be credited to all those who are selected to a 21CS team in 2010.

Pre-registration is required.  To register, please contact us at .  Pre-registrations will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on the day of the tryout.

BIG NEWS: 21CS TO BEGIN TEAM PLAY IN SPRING 2010!

BIG - WE MEAN BIG - NEWS!

21st Century Sports is excited to announce their new official partnership with the Tri-State Cyclones Baseball organization (www.tristatecyclones.com), one of the premier clubs on the East Coast!  The purpose of the partnership is to expand the instructional reach of 21CS while also providing its baseball members the opportunity for year-round team play at the 10U, 12U, 13U and 14U levels. 

Team play! at each of these levels is scheduled to begin in March 2010, with tryouts taking place this January at various sites throughout Westchester.  Expansion at the 15U and 16U levels - including the opportunity for players and families to take advantage of our College Advisory & Prep Services - is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2010.  Tryout information for all age levels will be made available in the upcoming weeks.

Official 2009-10 Winter Acadeny Information Released

OFFICIAL 2009-10 WINTER ACADEMY INFORMATION RELEASED

Our 2009-10 Winter Training Academy program and schedule information has been released in full!  Our Winter Training Academy consists of hour-long skill clinics that teach players the fundamentals and advanced techniques of college and pro-style baseball and softball hitting, pitching & catching, fielding and sport-specific conditioning & fitness. 

Our 2009-10 Winter Training Academy will have sport-specific programs for both baseball and softball players.  That is, baseball and softball programs will be conducted independent of each other:  Baseball players will receive baseball-specific instruction, and softball players will receive softball-specific instruction.

Another Collegiate Coach Joins Our Coaching Staff

COACH HORN JOINS THE 21CS COACHING STAFF

Billy Horn is among the most recent additions to our Baseball Elite Coaching Staff, joining 21CS in October 2009.  Horn most recently served as the pitching coach for the current Division II National Champion, Lynn University, in Boca Raton, Florida.  Under his tutelage in 2009, Horn oversaw the prorgamming and devlopment of the reigning Division II National Pitcher of the Year.  He also assisted in development of  another current pitcher who is projected to be a first-round draft pick in the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft.  Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, Horn enjoyed a remarkable rise from unrecruited high school player to professional pitcher in the Golden League (CA) and Italian Professional League.  Horn was even selected as a member of the 2004 Italian Olympic National Team.  He credits his rise to perseverance and willingness to listen to coaches who tried to improve his game.  "I really didn't know much about pitching coming out of high school.  I even had trouble getting innings my first couple of years in college.  But I just kept working hard until I finally got my chance.  Hopefully someone else can learn from my experience."  Clearly, we are excited that Coach Horn will now have a platform to work with our players.  Welcome Aboard Coach!

2009 Is Fine for 21CS' Teams!

2009 IS FINE FOR 21CS' VARSITY TEAMS!

Congratulations is in order for a host of 21CS Varsity Team Members!  The Varsity teams for many of 21st Century Sports' Program Members captured championships during their high school seasons.
  • Mamaroneck Tigers Baseball-21CS Coach Mike Chiapparelli (Head Coach):  The Tigers won their second consecutive N.Y.S. Class AA title.  This accomplishment is so impressive that it is only the secnod time in N.Y.S. baseball history that a team has won back-to-back state titles!
  • Saunders Baseball, 21CS Coach Bill Consiglio (Assistant Coach):  The Blue Devils were undefeated in league play and earned the fifth-best record in Section I Class AA en route to a school-record 15 wins and .750 winning percentage.
  • Kennedy Catholic, 21CS Coach Rich Moran (Assistant Coach):  The defending state champions once again reached the Section I Class B finals before falling to Dobbs Ferry in another outstanding year.
  • Yorktown Baseball, 21CS Coach & Vp of Summer Camp Operations, Sean Kennedy (Head Coach):  The Huskers' baseball team scored a "5-12" upset when they defeated the Saunders Blue Devils in the Section I playoffs.  They went on to lose 7-6 in an extra innings thriller against 4th seeded Fox Lane, who in turn lost to eventual state champion Mamaroneck.

The Brakettes Are Coming, The Brakettes Are Coming........

21st Century Sports is excited to announce the formation of an official partnership with the Connecticut Brakettes, the 2007 Amateur Softball Association's (ASA) Women's Pro Fastpitch NATIONAL CHAMPION.  Current and former Brakette players include tens of Olympians and All-Americans, including nearly 20 players in the ASA Hall of Fame.  The partnership is designed to increase exposure of softball's premier franchise to our young local players while providing top-flight instruction - in the form of year-round camps and clinics - to multiple sites right here in New York beginning in Fall 2008.  Click on the links on the left to learn more about our outstanding "Softball-Specific" instructional program and coaches!
